What's it like at Oxford?

"I usually go racing once or twice a week. I go to Oxford every Tuesday as this is my nearest track. I enjoy the entertainment and usually sit with a group of owners and friends in the restaurant where you get a very good value for money three-course meal.

The first Tuesday in every month is an owners' night and all races carry a trophy for the winner. One of the sponsored races carries an extra £100 bonus though you have to be a member of the Oxford Owner's Association to qualify.

I have greyhounds running at Oxford and of course it's always the highlight of the night to see them race, especially if it is a trophy night.

The parking at Oxford is excellent and there is plenty of room to sit throughout the stadium whether you decide to dine in the restaurant or not. On Sky racing nights (mostly on Tuesdays) there is normally a large screen to view that on too.

Owners at Oxford have their own website where they can read all the news or they use the notice board in the main lounge. Advanced runners for the track will soon be added to the website and this will be a great help to all owners planning their racing and social diary.

I do go to other stadia to watch greyhounds competing in open class. The fun of that is that all six greyhounds in a race may have come from six different home tracks so the excitement and the buzz is great with all their travelling supporters cheering them on. Most tracks that I visit look after the owners of open race class greyhounds - you usually get free entrance, free race card and an owners area to watch the races".
